Two 2016 college graduates are beginning one-year fellowships with College For Every Student (CFES) at the organization’s main office in Essex.
Aurora Butera, from Farmington, Connecticut, graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Language and European History. Deirdre McAdams, from Dublin, Ireland, graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a Bachelor of Arts in Medicinal Chemistry.
Rick Dalton, CEO and president of CFES, said: “The CFES Fellowships offer valuable experiential learning opportunities for recent graduates. By contributing to special projects and visiting schools integrating the CFES model, the fellows can see how our Core Practices—Mentoring, Leadership Through Service, and Pathways to College and Career—are implemented. We are excited to have both fellows here in Essex, and look forward to helping them advance into the 21st-century workplace.”
CFES plans to select new fellows every year. Students graduating from college in 2017 can start applying for next year’s fellowships at the end of February through the CFES website (www.collegefes.org). Fellows will be selected in May.
College For Every Student (CFES) is a global leader helping low-income students become college and career ready. CFES currently supports 25,000 students through partnerships with rural and urban K-12 schools in 30 U.S. states and Ireland.
