Today we’re showcasing a whimsical Essex doodle from our live performance at The Depot Theatre on July 23, 2013. This detailed illustration was created on stage by Amy Gugliemo in response to the question, “What comes to mind when you think of Essex, NY?”
Amy filled a jar with little snippets of Essex that mean something to her. What do you see?
I can spot part of Main Street; the one stoplight in town; Champy; the waters of Lake Champlain; sailing; waterskiiing; Rosslyn Boathouse; ice cream from the Essex Ice Cream Cafe; vegetables and other doodles representing Full and By Farm; and some art frames representing the Adirondack Art Association or perhaps the general artistic spirit of Essex? Also included were the friendly faces of some people in the Essex community!
Did I miss anything? What do these doodles captured in a jar mean to you?
Does this symbolic doodle inspire you? We’d love to see your Essex doodles!! Whimsical like Amy’s or straightforward sketches of Essex landscapes or buildings or people…whatever you’d like to doodle! Be creative.
