One of the first passersby to stop at the Essex on Lake Champlain table on Downtown Essex Day 2013, was Jackie Brayden and her husband David. Everyone chatted for a bit about their son’s searching for Essex history with with his metal detector, before talk turned to our own search for Essex doodles and doodlers.
It took a bit of cajoling, but they both grabbed a sharpie and doodled a bit! You can see David’s doodle of the Old Dock here. Jackie’s doodle is pictured above! What did she choose to drawn when asked to doodle something about Essex, NY? It looks to me like it may be meant to be one of the Essex buildings along Main Street. Which house/building does it resemble to you? Do you recognize it?
Does this quick doodle inspire you to doodle yourself? We hope so! This took two minutes tops–we don’t need you to spend hours on a finely detailed drawing (though we certainly wouldn’t object if you wanted to create one!) Just take a few minutes, think of Essex, and put a pen/pencil/marker to paper! Then send us your doodle(s) and we’ll share them with the rest of the community.
