This doodle was submitted to us by Pat Boutilier at our live performance at The Depot Theatre on July 23, 2013. Can you tell what this somewhat abstract doodle is meant to be?
This is a fun interpretation of the single stoplight on Main Street in Essex, NY. (It’s the only stoplight in the entire hamlet!) The flashing 3-way stoplight tells drivers to stop along Main Street or at the end of Station Street–with a view of the either the Adirondack Art Association in the old firehouse, the Essex Community Church or the Town Hall (formerly Wright’s Inn) depending on which way you’re going on which road.
This fun doodle incorporates the stoplight and pieces of the road and sidewalk into a whimsical re-imagining of an Essex icon! Can you do the same? Take a familiar Essex building, landmark, or some other common sight and then add some original playful or fanciful changes or additions! Then send your finished doodles to us!
