At our table during Downtown Essex Day this summer we entreated the passing visitors to pick up a pen and draw us doodles. We asked, “What came to mind when thinking of Essex?” We received a wide variety of ‘replies,’ some easy to decipher and some not.
Michelle Maron was one of several to stop by, chat, and grab a sharpie. Her swirling abstract doodle reminds me of the waters of Lake Champlain. Very tranquil. Though perhaps there are other meanings in Michelle’s swirling lines? What do you see?
Does nature inspire you too? Take a look around at the vast skies over Lake Champlain and the high peaks of the Adirondacks, but also look at the minuscule pieces of the Essex environment–the leaves on a tree beginning to color for Fall, a squirrel scampering up a tree, or perhaps some weeds growing along the path of the sidewalk leading out of town will be what inspires you?
We’d love to see your Essex Doodles too! Find out how to contact us and send us your doodles!
