Last week the staff, board and current cast and crew working at the Depot Theatre were invited to mingle at the first mixer of the summer. This was the first in a new Depot Theatre tradition that invites everyone working at the theatre to meet and get to know each other before the fast-paced rehearsals, preparations, and performances make everyone too busy.
I happen to work in the box office of the theatre and so was invited to this exclusive event. It was wonderful getting the chance to meet everyone. I look forward to the future mixers this summer, and I hope this is a tradition that continues for years to come. I believe it’s important for all facets of this small theatre to work cohesively together, and that’s always easier when you get to know the people you’re working with before the stress and fast pace of the show run kicks in.
The mixer gathered over two-dozen Depot Theatre attendees. The atmosphere was high-energy and positive as members of the cast from New York City mingled with local North Country staff and expressed their good first impressions of our region. Several of the cast and crew are returning to the Depot Theatre from last year, so you may recognize a few faces on stage!
Thanks to the Westport Hotel and Tavern for hosting this get-together and providing some delicious snacks! I particularly enjoyed their spinach and artichoke dip.
