The Depot Theatre is pleased to announce the cast of its final main stage show of the season, the charming musical FOREVER PLAID.
FOREVER PLAID is considered one of the most popular and successful off-Broadway musicals in history. A delightful, family-friendly show set in the 50s era, FOREVER PLAID tells the tale of four childhood friends who perform songs in tight, harmonious barbershop harmony.
The group has paid its dues singing at weddings and anniversaries and finally has an opportunity to do a real gig. Unfortunately, their car is fatally broadsided on the way. No worries: by some twist of fate, they are brought back to Earth to perform.
“It’s great fun to bring back a family-friendly classic, and we’ve got a terrific cast,” said Kenney Green, Depot Theatre Producing Artistic Director and the show’s choreographer and musical director. “These gentlemen are wonderful entertainers, storytellers and vocalists.”
Joshua Betz will play the role of Sparky. Betz is an Actors’ Equity Association actor from New York City. He is a graduate of Millikin University and is beyond thrilled to make his Depot Theatre debut! He was last seen on the national tour of SUESSICAL THE MUSICAL as Jojo.
Devin J. Hall (Jinx) is pleased to make his Depot Theatre debut. His previous credits include: National Tours: RENT (Paul/Angel u/s); Regional: HAIR (Hud); Sister Act (Tj); HAIRSPRAY (Seaweed); RENT (Angel); AIDA (Mereb).
Dan Bob Higgins (Smudge) returns to the Depot stage after performing in this season’s THE WORLD GOES ‘ROUND. His previous credits include: WEST SIDE STORY tour, ELF THE MUSICAL tour, CHASING RAINBOWS: THE ROAD TO OZ (world premier), and other productions at MSMT, Ogunquit Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, and Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre.
Patrick Scholl (Frankie) is delighted to be performing at the Depot Theatre! Patrick studied musical theatre at Bowling Green State University. He has also performed throughout the eastern United States for organizations like The Theater Barn (SHE LOVES ME, …SPELLING BEE, THE MOUSE TRAP, PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES), Huron Playhouse (I LOVE YOU YOU’RE PERFECT NOW CHANGE, GYPSY, THE WIZARD OF OZ), RWS Entertainment group, and All Hands On Deck LLC. He can also be seen performing in festivals like the New York New Works Festival.
The fun, toe-tapping show includes a long list of musical favorites, among them “Rags to Riches,” “She Loves You,” “Cry,” “Chain Gang,” “Shangri-La,” and “Love is a Many Splendored Thing.”
The show is directed by Kristin Keim, a NYC-based Director/Choreographer who is excited to be directing her first show at the Depot Theatre. Recent NYC directing credits include SKYLAR (NYC Fringe), A HAND ACROSS THE BRIDGE (PCTF), STORIES FROM SEPTEMBER (PIT/SoloCon), WAITING… (PCTF, Nomination Best Direction of a Play), LENNY BRUCE IS NOT AFRAID (Frigid Festival), and A LIFE TBD (NYC Fringe).
FOREVER PLAID is sponsored by Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union.
