For many Essex, NY residents and visitors Downtown Essex Day is their favorite summer celebration, reuniting generations of Essex fans. Today we’re looking forward to meeting you at the 34th Downtown Essex Day on Saturday, August, 3 from 10AM to 4PM, rain or shine.

Downtown Essex Day is rolling around again this Saturday. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., crowds will throng the hamlet as vendors and shop keepers offer all manner of items for sale. There will be music and a big tent behind the town hall. ~ Rob Ivy (Denpubs.com)
At Essex Day be sure to watch for the “Healing Garden “ display where you will see the beautiful quilt that Gretchen Boardman gave the group to raffle and the proceeds go toward their project of getting the long awaited large angel to be placed at the garden. People are encouraged to stop down and view the special garden at the back end of the Memorial Cemetary. ~ Janice Allen (Denpubs.com)
Downtown Essex Day Activities
A lively mix of long-time favorites will once again engage visitors of all ages. Antiques, collectibles, artwork, and crafts will be on sale at shops and booths throughout the hamlet and under a tent behind the town hall.

Visitors can listen to music while they explore, as Joan Crane will perform her popular blues/folk tunes on the lawn at Pantouf’s Glass Studio starting at 11AM.
Lunch or snacks can be enjoyed at the Old Dock House Restaurant, the historic Essex Inn, Essex Provisions, the Essex Ice Cream Café, the Pink Pig, and Chez Lin and Rays. Families can eat picnic lunches at Beggs Park where children can jump and slide on the playground equipment. There is also access to the lake for those who would like to swim.
History and architecture buffs will be able to stroll the streets of Essex, known for its mid-19th century buildings of stone and brick. The hamlet is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and protected by ordinances that help manage growth and change while preserving the historical integrity of the town.
Walk-on tickets for the Essex-Charlotte ferry will be half-price when purchased between 10AM and noon the day of the event thanks to the Lake Champlain Transportation Company. Take a soothing jaunt across the lake and back.
