
Lake Champlain Transportation (LCT) has updated the Essex-Charlotte ferry schedule on their website. The Essex-Charlotte ferry is currently running on the spring schedule.
The New York side crossing in Essex is now open from 6:30 am-8:30 pm and the Vermont side from 6 am-8 pm. There will be a ferry available every half hour from 10:30 am-5:30 pm (Essex) and 10 am-5 pm (Charlotte), but before and after those times there will only be one ferry running, so there will only be rides every hour.
Summer Hours
The ferry will shift to summer hours June 14th. The NY side will run 6:30 am-9:30 pm and the Vermont side from 6 am-9pm. The ferry will run every half hour from 8:30 am-7:30 pm (Essex) and 8 am-7 pm (Charlotte), and occur every hour before and after those times.
The early fall schedule will begin on September 3. Running hours are from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm on the Vermont side, and from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm in Essex, NY. The ferry will run every half hour from 10:00 am to 5:00pm on the Vermont side and from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm on the New York side. Before and after those times the ferry will run every hour.
The late fall schedule will begin November 5th with the ferry running every hour. On the NY side it will operate from 6:30 am-8:30 pm and 6 am-8 pm in Vermont.
The winter schedule will begin December 31st, and the Essex side will run from 7:30 am-5:30 pm, while the Charlotte side will run from 7 am-5 pm with the ferry arriving on the hour.

Essex-Charlotte Ferry Tips
Also here are some reminders for commuters to remember. The ferry has a 3.5% fuel surcharge right now that is applied to each ticket sale which raises prices while fuel is over $3/gallon. For those unaware LCT no longer sells round trip tickets. Though there is a discount commuter card available for those who frequently use the ferry and are wary of the prices.
