Daily Essex Doodles
We’re trying to post original Essex doodles every day as a way to inspire you to explore Essex in new, creative and possibly even whimsical ways. It’s a fun challenge and we’re hoping you’ll help us.
[This is] a chance for you to dive into the creative process, to share your perspective on what makes Essex unique. (How do you doodle, Essex?)
We’re working on a series of handbooks (print and digital) using Essex doodles to illustrate local themes like architecture, history, adventures, etc. The first, The Doodler’s Guide to Essex, NY Architecure is currently being edited and revised, so we’re shifting our focus to local history, heritage and anything else that inspires you to doodle about your community. We hope you’ll submit Essex doodles for us to showcase on the blog!
Essex Doodle Weekly
Each Friday we plan to feature doodles from the week-ending in case you’ve missed them. This includes a combination of doodles created by members of the community and by George Davis.
You can view the images (see below), mouse over them to see the captions, and/or click on them to see larger, clearer versions. And you can scroll down to the links below and to view the originals and view the accompanying posts.
Each of the doodles featured above have an accompanying story. If you would like to read more you can click on the links below to learn more about these specific Essex doodles (list order in sync with doodle order):

Share Your Essex Doodles
So far, we’ve collected most of the community doodles after our stage show at the Depot Theatre in July and during Essex Day. If you have a great time/place for us to set up a doodling booth, please let us know.
