The Essex Inn Tavern has been recognized as one of the top restaurants in upstate New York State by an online tourism publication (www.newyorkupstate.com). Described as a “glorious slice of Upstate New York history all wrapped up in a classy inn and fine dining restaurant overlooking Lake Champlain,” the Essex Inn’s recognition solidifies it as a premier farm-to-table restaurant in the Adirondacks.
New York Upstate profiles one restaurant that “locals love” in every one of the state’s 62 counties. The publication says the following about the Essex Inn: “A fantastic restoration begun in 2010 has brought it back to its original glory. For a fun dining adventure, you can eat in the former horse stables, now restored to its early beauty and stocked with its own wine closet!”
New York Upstate recommends “the beet salad, which includes local beets, goat cheese, and walnuts and black garlic on a bed of greens.”
The Essex Inn is open year around, Thursday through Sunday 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. With its focus on fresh, local food, the Tavern menu changes weekly.
