Ethel’s Dew Drop Inn opened for the summer season on Thursday, May 23, 2013. Now you can finally get one of their famous michigans again! Or if you’re me you go right to the ice cream window for the delicious soft serve ice cream!
Ethel and Marshall Hathaway opened Ethel’s Dew Drop Inn on April 20, 1974. The restaurant was destroyed in a fire only a few years ago, but it was quickly rebuilt! While the new restaurant lacks an indoor dining room, multiple tables have been set up outside to provide refreshing outdoor dining. One large area is covered by a canopy in case of rain.
Ethel has a warm welcome back to share with the community:
“I’m happy to be open another year and can’t wait to see all the usual faces and meet some new people.”
About Ethel’s Dining

Ethel’s serves a variety of fast diner food, including chicken wings and tenders, fries, onion rings, burgers, fried mushrooms and cauliflower, michigans and more!
They also offer milkshakes, sundaes, and ice cream (regular or soft-serve) by the cone or cup.
The restaurant’s hours of operation are Tuesday-Sunday from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. They are closed Mondays.
Ethel’s offers takeaway and has outdoor seating. Call (518) 963-8389 to place your order ahead of time or for pick-up.
Credit cards are not accepted. However, since the restaurant is right across the street from the town bank which has an ATM it isn’t usually an issue.
This small restaurant is located at 3901 NYS Rt 22 in Willsboro, New York. This year the restaurant will be closing at the end of September. So enjoy the restaurant’s summer treats while they’re here!

Hi Katie, Just want to let you know how much I enjoy getting news from Essex. We are not able to spend as much time in Essex as we have in previous years and it is fun to be able to keep up on all of the business and activity in town. To add to all of the eating establishments that Essex has to offer you might want to note that the deli”Essex Provisions” on Main street has opened for the season. Their fantastic sandwiches, soup, Sticky buns, muffins, pastry and delicious take out meals are not to be missed. Please give it a visit. Along with the new restaurant at the Shipyard “Chez Linda and Ray’s” it is nice to see some good food and traffic at the southern end of town. Thanks Katie and keep up the outstanding work you are doing. Sincerely, Pat Burley
