The Essex-Charlotte ferry has increased its hours already this spring! This is earlier than usual. Perhaps because of the unexpected good weather and short winter? The New York side crossing is now open from 6:30 am-8:30 pm and the Vermont side from 6 am-8pm. You can view the complete schedule on the Lake Champlain Transportation (LCT) website ferries.com. You can also view ticket prices there.
If you depend the ferry for your transportation needs and want up to date information you can text “LCTFerries” to 24587 to receive important schedule updates on your phone.
Also here are some reminders for commuters to remember. The ferry has a 3.5% fuel surcharge right now that is applied to each ticket sale raises prices while fuel is over $3/gallon. For those unaware LCT no longer sells round trip tickets. Though there is a discount commuter card available for those who frequently use the ferry and are wary of the prices.
