Director Sasha Reuther will present his film, Brothers on the Line: The Reuthers and the Rise of the Autoworkers Union on Saturday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Whallonsburg Grange Hall.
Admission is $7.00; students are free.
An award-winning documentary, Brothers on the Line explores the extraordinary journey of the brothers Walter, Roy, and Victor Reuther, whose union organizing work led an army of autoworkers into an epic struggle for social justice at the height of the Great Depression.
Sasha Reuther, grandson of Victor Reuther, grew up with his grandfather’s stories of dramatic picket line confrontations and assassination attempts. His subsequent interest in becoming a documentary filmmaker led him back to his own family and the gripping story of how the industrial unions of America were built. Brothers on the Line is his first feature-length film.
The Whallonsburg Grange Hall is located at 1610 NYS Route 22 at Whallons Bay Road, five miles south of the Essex ferry.
