Fort Ticonderoga’s 2014 Author Series continues on Sunday, August 31, with Allison Pataki, author of The Traitor’s Wife, a historical fiction novel set in Revolutionary-era America. The program takes place at 2 pm in the Deborah Clarke Mars Education Center and is followed by a book signing in the Museum Store at 3 pm.
The program is included in the cost of admission; members of the Friends of Fort Ticonderoga and Ticonderoga Ambassador Pass holders are admitted at no cost.
Author Allison Pataki weaves intrigue and personality in this riveting and popular historical novel about Peggy Shippen Arnold, the beautiful wife of Benedict Arnold, Revolutionary War hero and traitor. Told from the perspective of Peggy’s maid, whose faith in the new nation inspires her to intervene in her mistress’s affairs even when it could cost her everything, the historical fiction brings to life infamous figures in American history and transports readers back to the American Revolution.
About the Author
Allison Pataki graduated Cum Laude from Yale University and has spent several years writing for TV and online news outlets, including ABCNews.com and FoxNews.com. The daughter of former New York State Governor George E. Pataki, Allison was inspired to write The Traitor’s Wife based on the rich Revolutionary history of her hometown in New York State’s Hudson Highlands. The Traitor’s Wife is Allison’s first novel. She lives in Chicago with her husband, David.
