Thanks to grant funding and generous donations by members and the board of directors, the Adirondack Art Association (AAA) will be offering all of their children’s art classes for free this summer. Special thanks is owed to the Charles R Wood Foundation as they provided the AAA with a grant to help fund these classes. As a non-profit community arts organization, the Adirondack Art Association is dedicated to providing arts education and fine art exhibitions in the community of Essex and the surrounding areas.
Five children’s art classes will be offered through out the 2016 summer season, with at least one class every month from June to September. These classes include Children’s Nature & Art Workshop on Saturday, June 25; Red, White & Blue Children’s Tie Dye Workshop on Saturday, July 2; “Wabi Sabi” Photography Workshop on Saturday, July 16; Bird House Painting Class on Saturday, August 20; and Children’s Nature & Art Workshop on Saturday, September 17.
The AAA hopes that in being able to provide this programming free of charge to the community, more children will have an opportunity to experience art making and discover their own talents. All of the children’s classes are free and open to the public, but donations towards class materials will be accepted if parents wish to donate $3-10 per child.
The Adirondack Art Association opened for the season on Friday May 27, 2016. All programming including art exhibits, art classes, and special events can be found on the AAA website at www.adirondackartassociation.com. Memberships at multiple levels are available to help support this programing. For more information please email info@adirondackartassociation.com.
