We are all set up for more cider making tonight during the share. We have some nice sweet apples to mix into the tart varieties this week. Please bring a jar to take some home, and plan to stay for awhile tonight if possible.
New Draft Team
Rosa and Lightning have been all of the excitement this week. They have not proven to be quite the easy match that Abby and Lightning were. Abby’s passive, asleep at the wheel demeanor balanced out Lightning’s jumpy nature seamlessly. Rosa adds a lot of strength and stamina to the team, which is a big plus, but she and Lightning share many undesirable characteristics too. They both tend to the nervous side and want to be in charge. We’re still hopeful that they will settle into each other over time, and that Rosa will get a little calmer and more comfortable as she gets to know us and our driving habits. Until then there is a lot of white knuckle driving going on, as the horses want to race everywhere.
