Graduation 2012: Willsboro and Westport Schools

It’s that time of year again! Summer is heating up and schools are closing down. That means that there are new high school graduates going out into the world with hopes and plans for the future.

Our two local schools, Willsboro Central School and Westport Central School are releasing graduates into the wild where they will go on to continue their educations, or join the legions already in the workforce or the military. Perhaps some will take some time off to see the world first? In any case their journeys are just beginning.

Join them for their graduation ceremonies this weekend and celebrate!

Willsboro Central School

With a class of 22 graduates, Willsboro is proud to announce that the valedictorian for the Class of 2012 is Deanna Mero, and the salutatorian is Emily Sayward.

The commencement ceremony for the Willsboro Central School class of 2012 will take place Friday, June 22, at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium. The commencement speaker will be Christian Ford, guidance counselor at the school.

Westport Central School

This year 21 students will graduate from Westport. The valedictorian for the Class of 2012 is Willa McKinley, and the salutatorian is Allison Sherman.

The commencement ceremony for the Westport Central School Class of 2012 will take place on Saturday, June 23, at 10 a.m. in the school gymnasium. The commencement speaker will be Scott Gibbs, English teacher at the school.
