The Essex Fire Department (EFD) is 100% volunteer, and we are all on call 24 hours a day, 365 days per year and ready to lend assistance to you, the members of our community.

Although we receive an operational budget from the Fire District, we depend heavily on donations to support our community outreach efforts. One of our biggest non-taxpayer funded expenditures (approximately $6,000) is our annual Fourth of July parade and fireworks. Traditionally, we have utilized a monthly calendar lottery ticket drawing to help finance this event. The logistics, and legalities from the NYS Gaming Commission, have unfortunately ended this revenue raising option.

We are reaching out to you to help fund this important annual community event! Your generous donation will help us to continue the quality parade and fireworks you have come to expect. The 2016 fireworks will be the evening of July 3rd, with the parade the following day, July 4th.
