Representatives from more than 30 colleges will gather at Plattsburgh High School on March 22 to offer insights, information, and advice to hundreds of Adirondack high school students about college and career options. Represented colleges include St. Lawrence University, Clinton County Community College, and New England Culinary Institute, as well as the U.S. Air Force and Army. Also attending will be several career services, including Coryer Staffing and OneWorkSource.

The college and career fair is part of Plattsburgh High School’s partnership with CFES Brilliant Pathways. CFES engages students in three core practices – Mentoring, Essential Skills, and Pathways to College and Career – to prepare them for college, career, and beyond.
CFES liaison and PHS math teacher Sue LaPierre explained that the event will cater to the needs of all students who attend.
“For 9th graders this might be the first time they’ve talked to a college recruiter, and it will get them thinking about all the post-secondary possibilities available to them. Whereas for our juniors and seniors, this large gathering will help them narrow down their options and help them get serious about their futures.”
The event is open to all high school students (grades 9-12) in the Adirondacks and lunch will be provided.
