
The Essex-Charlotte ferry crossing is closed due to ice. Lake Champlain Transportation Company sent out the following message the morning of April 8:
Charlotte crossing closed due to ice—will reopen when it clears.
[Grand Island/Cumberland Head] GI/CH crossing running as scheduled 24/7.
This afternoon they sent out the following message announcing the continued closure of the ferry:
April 10-Charlotte Vt.-Essex NY ferry is still closed due to moving ice.

UPDATE: April 11—Charlotte Vt.-Essex NY ferry is opening today at 1:00pm, and will run as scheduled.
