Inventing Ethan Allen — Inventing Ethan Allen

Essex Resident and historian Nick Muller will discuss his recent book, Inventing Ethan Allen, which he co-authored with John J. Duffy, at the Belden Noble Memorial Library on Wednesday, August 20 at 7:00 p.m. Nick will address numerous questions about Allen’s life including:

Why did accounts of his life and deeds appear 50 years after his death?
Why has history created this hero?
Why does imagery of Allen depict him in a Continental officers uniform when he never held a commission?

A donation to the library is requested but not required.

About Tom Mangano

Tom became the director of the Belden Noble Memorial Library in Essex after a 33-year career as technical editor at GE in Schenectady. In 2009, Tom received a master's degree in information science from the University at Albany. He became library director in Essex in 2011. Tom and his wife MaryAnne divide their time between Essex and Schenectady.
