Saturday, December 12 is Magic of Christmas in Essex Day. Here’s a summary of the schedule as of the time of this posting. 9:00am to 4:00pm: Visit Holiday Vendors located at Lake Champlain Yoga & Wellness and inside the CFES Center. Visit local shops: Pink Pig, Neighborhood Nest, Essex Ice Cream Café, Cupola House, Lake Champlain Yoga & Wellness, and ReNew.
9:30am: Santa & Mrs. Claus arrive at Essex Ferry dock, where they will greet children and families
9:45am: Essex Fire Department transports Santa & Mrs. Claus from the Essex Ferry dock to the Essex Fire Department
9:45am to 11:00am: Free pancake breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Claus at the Fire Department
9:30am to 3:00pm: Fabulous Holiday Photo Booth (At 12:45pm, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for pictures!)
10:00 am to 3:00pm: Christmas bazaar at Essex Community Church (annual soup and sandwich luncheon at 11:30)
10:00am to 4:00pm: Silent auction at Belden Noble Memorial Library
11:00am to 3:00pm: Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop for Kids (Free). Where: 2305 Main Street (one house south of the Essex Town Hall)
12:00pm to 5pm: Essex Christmas Art Show at the Adirondack Art Association. Children are invited to create their own tree ornaments from 2 – 4 pm and can package them as gifts. There will also be an ongoing Christmas mural being created to which children and adults can add images.
12:00pm to 12:30pm: Reindeer Fun Run for Kids around Beggs Point (Start & Finish at Lake Champlain Yoga & Wellness)
12:45pm to 2:00pm: Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus
2:30pm: Steven Kellogg reads The Christmas Witch at the Belden Noble Library while creating illustrations from the book.
4:00pm: Town tree lighting with Christmas music and singalong by Willsboro Central School students. Santa & Mrs. Claus then travel across the street to light the town tree. (Children who have completed their scavenger hunt card can turn it in to Santa for a Christmas gift from Essex!)
7:00pm: Come to the Whallonsburg Grange Hall for some Square Dancing fun with the Upstate New Yorkers
