Essex Town Board
Minutes of Special Emergency Meeting
January 23, 2015 – 9:00 a.m.
Present: Edward Gardner, Supervisor, Councilpersons: Claire LaPine and Mark Wrisley.
Absent: Bryan Garvey
Also Present: Cathy De Wolff, Clerk, William Morgan, Town Clerk, and Dorothy Renadette.
Supervisor Gardner called the Special Meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. to make sure that all parties
were present. The Supervisor led the participants in the Pledge of Allegiance. The Supervisor
asked Clerk De Wolff to read the posting notice of this meeting. The Clerk read the notice.
On a motion by Councilwoman LaPine to enter into executive session to discuss a personnel
matter, specifically that of the Town Clerk and appointing a Deputy Town Clerk, seconded by
Councilman Wrisley, the Board entered into Executive Session at 9:30 a.m.
Supervisor Gardner expressed the urgent need to appoint a Deputy Town Clerk. On a motion to
appoint Dorothy Renadette as the Deputy Town Clerk by Councilman Wrisley, seconded by
Councilwoman LaPine, the motion to appoint Mrs. Renadette carries by a vote of Aye-3 No-0
Absent-1 (Garvey).
Supervisor Gardner-swore in Dorothy Renadette as the Deputy Town Clerk and she signed the
Oath of Office with a term expiring 12/31 /15.
These actions were taken in Executive Session.
On a motion by Councilman LaPine to exit Executive Session and adjourn the meeting, seconded
by Councilman Wrisley, motion to exit and adjourn carries. The meeting is adjourned at 9:45
a.m.

A.M. TO FILL A TEMPORARY VACANCY OF ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL, THAT OF TOWN CLERK, AND TO
APPOINT A DEPUTY TOWN CLERK.
Pursuant to Open Meetings Law, the Essex Town Board hereby authorizes this meeting and said meeting
will be entered into the minutes of this Board.
