Planned Maintenance Closure of Essex-Charlotte Ferry Crossing January 2017

Essex-Charlotte ferry

The Lake Champlain Transportation Company has announced a planned closure of the Charlotte, VT/Essex, NY Crossing in January of 2017 for some maintenance. Here is their message:

The Charlotte, Vermont to Essex, New York ferry crossing will be closed from January 9, 2017 until January 21, 2017 for maintenance: the Essex ramp and ramp area requires repair. This timeframe is dependent upon favorable weather and ice conditions. If the Essex ramp area cannot be accessed due to weather or ice conditions, the work will be done in the early spring instead and the crossing will run as weather and ice conditions allow.
