There’s a new food establishment in Essex County this year, and it’s on wheels. Poco Más Tacos, owned and operated by Sarah King and Josh Zack, will hit the streets in early May to serve up traditional Mexican tacos from their mobile food trailer.
Sarah and Josh arrived to Essex last year after fleeing the drought in California. Sarah is a farmer, and Josh is a carpenter. While they look for land in the area to start a small farm, they plan to serve tacos inspired by the Mexican cuisine of their west coast heritage.
Poco Más Tacos will offer pork, beef and vegetarian tacos on hand-pressed, corn tortillas. Condiments will include fresh cilantro, cabbage, lime wedges, and a variety of homemade salsas. Quesadillas, black beans and seasonal salads will round out the menu. Many of their ingredients will be sourced fresh from the fields of our local farm community.
Taking some tips from the Clay Hearth Pizza trailer, Sarah and Josh are in the final stages of converting an old horse trailer into their certified food-vending establishment. For more photos on their progress, check out their Facebook page, “Poco Más Tacos.”
