Over the summer, Essex on Lake Champlain focused several articles on highlighting artists creating and working in our community. This coming Columbus Day Weekend, October 10th, 11th and 12th you have the opportunity to step inside the studio of Kevin Raines or outside for Edward Cornell’s Art Farm, in addition to several other artists and organizations participating in the Pop-Up Art Tour on NYS Route 22 (formerly or also known as the Boquet Valley Studio Tour).
The Adirondack Art Association will be celebrating its last weekend before closing for the 2014 season. They will also be holding a fun workshop building fairy houses on Sunday, October 12th. Helen Goetz and her glass work studio Pantouf’s will have the doors open all weekend. And painting conservator, Emily Phillips and Phillips Art Conservation Studio, is opening the doors to her new studio location in the village of Essex!
October has to be one of the most beautiful months on Lake Champlain. The leaves are just turning in the Champlain Valley and what better way to spend what looks to be a sun-filled weekend then exploring our communities and artists. You can even tie it into a full weekend tour by exploring the Essex County Cheese Tour which includes our neighboring North Country Creamery!
Please visit our website for more information. A map will be available at participating studios and “official” studio tour signs will be out for you to follow!
