Puppet Show
Join the faculty and puppets from Lakeside School on Saturday, April 5th for The Magic Lake at the End of the World. This puppet show is an adaptation of a Ecuadorian folk tale. This is a free event.
Two showings:
Paine Memorial Library, Willsboro, NY – 11am
Keene Valley Library, Keene Valley, NY – 2pm

Jazz Brunch and Auction
Lakeside school is proud to announce this year’s Jazz Brunch with Grammy Award Winning trumpeter Taylor Haskins at the Essex Inn on Sunday, April 6th. Two seating available – 12 & 1:30pm. Silent auction with a diverse collection of items donated by local businesses. Advanced tickets required and can be purchased here. Early bird special ends March 20th. Can’t attend? Consider making a donation to Lakeside School.

Community Observation Day
Interested community members, parents and care-givers are welcome to observe a morning at Lakeside School on Wednesday, April 30th from 8:45-11:00am. We will visit the Sprouts (day-care), Mixed Age Kindergarten (age 3.5-6) and 1st & 2nd grade classrooms. For more information and to register call 963-7385 or e-mail admin@lakesideschoolinessex.org. This is an adult only tour.

Open House
On Friday, May 16th Lakeside School will host an open house for early childhood and elementary children. Early children (birth – age 6) and their parents are invited to join kindergarten teacher Robin Gucker for a morning of story, circle, snack, and free playtime. Elementary students (children eligible for grades 1-3 next year) are welcome to join Ms. McQuade for a Main Lesson. Registration required – call 963-7385 or e-mail admin@lakesideschoolinessex.org.

Summer Camp
Lakeside School will host a summer camp in the month of July here at Black Kettle Farm. Children will explore the forest, streams, waterfalls, ponds, and fields of Black Kettle as well as work with planting, tending and harvesting the gardens and tending to the animals. More information and registration forms are available on our website. Register early as space is limited

Applications Open for the Fall
Applications are now open for the 2014-15 school year. Programs include Sprouts daycare for children age 1-3.5; Mixed-age Kindergarten for children age 3.5-6; and Elementary School for children in 1st, 2nd & 3rd grade. Applications are available on our website. Extended care is available for children in all programs until 5pm.

Lakeside School at Black Kettle Farm offers birth – 2nd grade (soon to be 3rd grade) education based on the Waldorf philosophy on a working farm in Essex, NY.
