It wouldn’t be summer without a dose of Shakespeare under the stars, and what better place to enjoy the arts and culture of Adirondack Park than a local Adirondack farm? Reber Rock Farm in Essex, NY is playing host to the professional acting troupe of the Adirondack Shakespeare Company for their season opening on July 15th.
Reber Rock is a 120-acre draft powered farm located on the southern edge of the Reber Valley. There Nathan and Racey Henderson, Chad Vogel, and Gwen Jamison work together to produce grassfed beef, pasture raised pork, chicken and turkey, herbs, vegetables, spelt, corn, dry beans, garlic, shiitake mushrooms and a plethora of other products like sunflower oil and maple syrup. The actors of ADK Shakespeare will descend on the farm hours before the curtain of Much Ado About Nothing to get ready to celebrate the opening of the Company’s seventh annual Summer Festival Season.
Flat Iron Cookery will fire up the grills at 5:00 p.m. to serve grilled sandwiches, salads, and beverages. Live music by ADK Shakes begins at 6:15 p.m. and the curtain for Much Ado About Nothing will “rise” at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and online at adkshakes.ticketleap.com. Bring along a picnic blanket or lawn chairs for a casual, fun night under the stars in Adirondack Park!
