Following the opening ceremonies, visitors can then join a bus tour or travel in their own vehicles along the interpretive route, to the Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site. At the Battlefield Michael Gabriel, author of The Battle of Bennington: Soldiers and Civilians will give a presentation. It will be followed by Brown’s Brewing Company’s unveiling of “Baum Mumm Ale,” a historic German brew created to commemorate the event. The presentation will be followed by guided tours by costumed interpreters, which will further enhance the story of Lieutenant Baum’s ill-fated journey.
Lunch at the Battlefield is included in the bus tour. The cost is $25, and reservations and payment for this should be sent to the Washington County Historical Society, c/o Kay Tomasi, P.O. Box 573, Salem, NY 12865. Visitors who travel in their own vehicles, may also purchase the lunch. The cost for the lunch alone is $10. There will be an additional cost for beer tasting, but the event itself is free and open to the public.

Where: Canal Corp Pull-Off, Route 4, Fort Miller, NY (Town of Fort Edward) approximately 3 miles north of where U.S. 4 crosses the Hudson River at Northumberland to Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site, U.S. Route 67, Town of Hoosick, New York.
