Is there anything sweeter than Adirondack maple syrup? Perhaps not, but the Depot Theatre‘s Artistic Director, Shami McCormick, and artist/children’s book author, Amy Guglielmo, have demonstrated that even old, recycled maple syrup sap gathering buckets retain their sweet Adirondack charm. It’s time for sap bucket art!
Remember Guglielmo’s post about the Essex on Lake Champlain sap bucket art contest?
The Depot Theatre was recently presented with a donation of 50 vintage maple sap buckets – buckets that can no longer be used for sap collecting. We hope you will be interested in transforming and donating one (or more) buckets into a work of art to be displayed and sold at the Depot Theatre Gallery from July 2 – July 31, 2012. Any buckets not sold during that time will be auctioned at the Depot Benefit gala on August 11. (Sap Bucket Art)
This afternoon I’m heading off to reception. If you haven’t had a chance to see this dazzling and widely diverse exhibition, I suggest you head over to The Depot Theatre between 5:00 and 7:00 PM for the artists’ reception featuring a wine tasting from local Chazy, NY winery Amazing Grace Vineyard & Winery.
You’ll even have an opportunity to bid on any buckets that strike your fancy. I have my eye on two, but I’m not going to spill the beans or you might try to up-bid me. I’m not that daft! I’m including a sneak peek to whet your appetite.
