You are cordially invited to the Opening Reception of the Spirit of Place Art Exhibit today, Thursday, at Heritage House from 5 to 7 pm. This is the 5th Annual show which began as a Plein Air show. While there are still paintings that began outdoors in Ballard Park or elsewhere, the show has morphed to become an exhibit that reflects the feelings and life experiences of artists living in the Champlain Valley, hence, Spirit of Place.
The most colorful and diverse show to date, work includes paintings, pottery, woven works, pictorial rugs, root baskets, pastels, wood cut prints, and much more. Everything is for sale via a Silent Auction. Sales benefit the artists and Heritage House. When you win an auction bid, you will be helping to maintain Heritage House or contributing to next winter’s heating bill, all for the benefit of our community. You will also be the proud owner of an exciting piece of art!
If you can’t come today, to enjoy the art, the refreshments, and talking with the artists, please do stop by Heritage House, during its open hours. (Weekday hours: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Saturday hours: 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday hours: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, closed Monday) The auction and show conclude at 3 pm August 4, Westport Festival Day.
