[Edit: I’ve been corrected by my mom who knows this tree better than I–apparently this blossoming tree is a pink flowering crabapple tree.]
It’s been a dreary few days with all these thunderstorms, so I thought that it would be a good time to share this short video of falling petals that I filmed earlier this spring to remind us that beautiful weather was here and will be returning! I hope it brightens up your day.
Spring flowers are here though they may be hidden by gloom right now. When the sun shines again take a look around your yard and see what nature has blooming! Or perhaps you have a garden full of flowers you tend to? In any case, enjoy the scent and sights of spring while you can!

We’d love to see any photos or videos you would like to share. Are you in Essex, NY, or one of the nearby communities? Post your spring images to the Essex on Lake Champlain Facebook page or submit to the blog.
Enjoy the gallery below of blossoming flowers that were found around my yard. Can you recognize the flower species? There are a couple that I do not know, but maybe you do? Identify them in the comments if you can! Click for larger view.
