Every Monday we share an image on the Essex on Lake Champlain Facebook page and invite our viewers to play some Vintage Essex Trivia. Last week we shared the two clips from the cover of an old ferry brochure as seen above. Have you ever seen this one before? What year do you think it was created? What do you think of it?
Here’s what the community had to say:
Ken Hughes: Is that Ronald and Nancy Reagan? 😊
This brochure dates to 1956! Could you tell it was the fifties from the style? It is marked with the date on the cover (as you can see below), but the style speaks for itself and the influence of the 1950s is apparent…It gives off a vibe of the decade to me with the drawing style along with the actual clothing & hair styles of the couple. Same for you?
Below you can see the full pages of the brochure from front to back, and the interior pages share the schedules of the Lake Champlain ferries along with amenities offered on board. Click any image to enlarge if desired for a closer look at details or text!

The last two images are part of the expanded interior with full schedules and pricing along with the map. (And boy, wish those were today’s prices, don’t you?)
