Every Monday we share an image on the Essex on Lake Champlain Facebook page and invite our viewers to play some Vintage Essex Trivia. Last week, we shared the image above featuring snippets from the covers of an old LCT ferry brochure! Have you ever seen this one before? What year do you think it dates to? What do you think of the style?
Here’s the full cover below, which tells us this brochure dates to the year 1960. Did you guess right?

Below you can see two interior pages of the brochure describing a bit about the history of Lake Champlain and the amenities available while traveling across the lake via the ferry. Click any of these images to get a closer look!

Next is the full interior spread that displays a map with ferry crossing as well as the prices and schedules at each crossing. Again, click on it to enlarge for zoomed in viewing of the details! What do you think of the ferry prices back then? It’s sure changed compared with today!

Finally, here is the back cover of the brochure. It’s pretty simple and a replica of the front cover, except the family from the front is missing and there is another ferry passing by out on the lake.

Do you have any thoughts to share about this old brochure? Please leave a comment below!
