
Frequently we share a different historic image on the Essex on Lake Champlain Facebook page and invite our viewers to play some Vintage Essex Trivia.
Last time we shared this postcard featuring a landmark in neighboring Westport, NY (according to what others have told me! I was unsure of where this was since the title just says on Lake Champlain, NY).

Dianne B Lansing: Says Barn Rock. That’s in Westport.
David Wyant: Barn Rock Harbor was designated as safe, no lights anchorage on the lake charts. Many boats anchored there for the night and partied there in the daylight.
Matt C. Morian: Never went there as a kid (as far as I remember) . . . but, I do remember excursions to Split Rock!!
Below is the backside of the postcard. It was never sent, so there is no postage date. Although the stamp space does show the cost of postage at the time this postcard was created…
