
Frequently we share a different historic image on the Essex on Lake Champlain Facebook page and invite our viewers to play some Vintage Essex Trivia.
Last time we shared the image above, which features a sketch of a home on the lake.
This old postcard has some text on the front: “Bonnie Tryst” and “Essex, NY.” I assumed that may have been the name of the artist – but a comment from the community cleared that up!
Dianne B. Lansing: Bonnie Tryst was owned by the Brooks family for many years. It is the first camp on the lake south of South Farm.
That’s actually the name of the house!
You can take a look at the backside of the postcard below, however, it was never sent so there is no postage date on it or any other text to help narrow down the date of the postcard.
