Every Monday we share an image on the Essex on Lake Champlain Facebook page and invite our viewers to play some Vintage Essex Trivia.
Do you recognize this landmark? Although it closely resembles the Split Rock Lighthouse in Essex it is not that landmark! One member of the community guessed that it was that one:
Helen Jennings Rita: Split Rock with Rattlesnake mountain behind it.
The caption will identify it for you if you don’t recognize it — it’s the Crown Point Lighthouse. Have you ever visited it? Do you notice any changes compared with today?
Take a look at the back side of the postcard below, which is dated 1907.
