Archie Fisher in Concert
At Whallonsburg Grange Hall
Tickets: $10 advance/$12 door. Under 18, $5.
The incomparable Scottish folk musician gave a magical, sold-out performance at the Grange last year, and this year they are lucky enough to get him back again! Get your tickets to see Fisher quickly because he will be here for one show only.
An avid horseman, master guitarist, storyteller, singer and songwriter, Archie Fisher is Scotland’s foremost troubadour. He is known throughout that country as the host of BBC Radio Scotland’s award-winning “Travelling Folk” show, which he presented for more than 25 years. His career stretches from the folk boom of the 1960s to concert stages and festivals in Canada, the UK and the US.
According to Scott Alarik of the Boston Globe, Fisher “has a remarkable gift for writing songs that seem to come from deep within the lives of others, whether it’s a “Bonny Border Lass,” a tough Ontario rancher, or a ruined Scottish fisherman. His best songs feel so timeless and authentic that many assume they are traditional.” (Whallonsburg Grange Hall)
