Papermaking, Marbling and Bookbinding Workshop
At Whallonsburg Grange Hall

Have you ever wondered how paper is made? Well, this is your chance to learn one way to create your own paper! You’ll also learn other skills to add to your artistic repertoire!

Enjoy this 3 part workshop:
Papermaking: Make paper the Lo-fi way! By re-pulping used paper and forming sheets with screens. Some screens, vats and paper scraps will be provided, but any materials you want to bring are welcome. Materials you might want to bring: paper scraps, receipts, etc., screen from a window or similar.
Marbling: Create a Suminagashi marbled pattern on a sheet of paper. Paper will be provided, but bring any specialty paper you like!
Bookbinding: Use your marbled paper as a cover to bind a sketchbook. We will be using Pamphlet Stitch and Japanese Stab Binding techniques to bind. Paper will be provided for book pages, but any specialty papers you want to bring are welcome. (Whallonsburg Grange Hall)
