The Whallonsburg Grange Hall will present a concert by Brattleboro, VT based Low Lily on Saturday, February 10 at 7:30 pm to open their 2018 concert series. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for those under 18.
The string and vocal group explores the roots and branches of American folk music with traditional influences and modern inspiration that weaves together a unique brand of acoustic music. Low Lily is Liz Simmons (vocals, guitar), Flynn Cohen (vocals, mandolin, guitar), Lissa Schneckenburger (vocals, fiddle), with Corey DiMario (double bass). They are masterful players with deep relationships to traditional music styles ranging from bluegrass to Irish, Scottish, New England, and Old Time Appalachian sounds. With stellar composition skills and inventive arrangements, their sound is rooted yet contemporary.
Low Lily’s concert at the Grange follows their appearance at the prestigious Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow, Scotland. They will be releasing their first full-length album later in 2018. Low Lily has “an incredible knack for putting a little pop twist on a traditional folk/Americana sound… it’s a blend that works beautifully.” —PopMatters
