These photographs were taken on the Champlain Area Trails Wildway Overlook trail early in the morning on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. The trail is a short one mile or so from Brookfield Road in the town of Essex, New York. It is an amazing view of the great diversity we have in the landscape here from Lake Champlain to the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.
This is an amazing cooperative between the Champlain Area Trails (CATS) and the Eddy Foundation to provide for public access on private land. The summit view from South Boquet Mountain is a great place to sit and realize the wonders of the beautiful but fragile world we live in.
You can see the results of 6+ inches of rain in the last month. The water running down the ledges exceeds the spring snow melt runoff. I would think that the fire ban should be cancelled.

Looks beautiful! How would I get to the trail, coming from Westport? Thank you.

Found it on the CATS website! Looks like the entrance is at S. Bouquet mountain.
