Together, the Adirondack Center for Writing (ACW) and the Adirondack Folk School (AFS) have announced the launch of the Kathleen Fagan Adirondack Writer Series.
“The Adirondack Folk School created this series to honor former Board member, Kathleen Fagan, who was also a talented writer and radical enthusiast for AFS and ACW,” explained Terri Cerveny, Executive Director of AFS. “Kathleen would have been as excited as we are about this fabulous partnership.”
The series kicks off on Thursday, May 14, at AFS, located at 51 Main Street, Lake Luzerne, NY and features novelist, Emmy-award winning journalist and a No. 1 New York Times bestselling author, Kate Fagan.
“It is very exciting to present Kate Fagan, the author of What Made Maddy Run and her new novel The Three Lives of Cate Kay,” said Nathalie Thill, Executive Director of ACW. “Fagan’s writing is nationally acclaimed; whether she is writing a novel, YA or sports journalism, she is incredibly smart, talented and engaging. She speaks all over the country, we are so lucky to have her.”
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a writing workshop led by Fagan, “The Debut Novel: From Idea to Publication.” Fagan will take attendees along her path to publishing her first novel and share the secrets she learned along the way. At 7 p.m., Fagan will read from her latest novel.
This event is free and open to all. Register at adirondackfolkschool.org/product/the-kathleen-fagan-writers-series-kate-fagan-may-2026. Future Kathleen Fagan Adirondack Writer Series events will be announced.
