Author/Illustrator Amy Guglielmo will share secrets for learning the practical steps to writing a picture book from concept to printed page. Amy will discuss concept, story, theme, characters, structure, pictures and layout. She will show participants how to use pictures to advance the story.
Participants will bring favorite picture books and story ideas to pitch. They will create “dummy” books of their own stories and learn how to submit and query editors and agents or self-publish.
This class is for anyone who wants to share their story in the form of a picture book. Ages 18+ are welcome. No prior writing or publishing or illustration experience is necessary.
