A mantra is a sound or vibration that can be used to focus the attention during meditation to achieve deeper states of consciousness. Mantras have been used for thousands of years to clarify intentions as well as for healing. When working with a mantra during a 40-day discipline, the mantra is repeated 108 times twice a day: generally at or before dawn, and again at or before dusk. In this workshop, we’ll learn how to string and knot a personalized set of gemstone mala beads, and then use our beads for a mantra meditation to get you started on your path!

Many consider shoulder-stand and headstand as the queen and king of asana practice. The benefits of both are enormous. And as with anything with great benefits, there are risks. But by using our heads, we can approach these most royal postures to help reassert the sovereignty of the heart over the mind. All levels of practice are welcome, sequences will be progressive.
Justin Wolfer – Yoga – From Humble Beginnings to Mastery
Sunday, March 15 1-4 pm
$35 per person by March 5, $45 after
We all start yoga from humble beginnings. The practice uncovers physical weakness, rigidity and disconnect within the body and triggers frustration, insecurity and fear in the nervous system. So what do we do with this? How do we move beyond these experiences? This workshop will focus on laying the ground work for your own journey towards mastery – where you are and how your practice becomes the engine that moves you forward. The asana portion of this workshop will focus on demystifying transitions and inversions. Expect a discussion and a challenging vinyasa practice with instructions for all levels of practitioner to progress towards their own realizations.
Lynda Garrand – Kundalini Yoga
Sunday, April 26 1-4 pm
$35 per person by April 16, $45 after
Join Lynda for this fun workshop to Discover Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini Yoga is a very dynamic style of yoga that works on many systems in the body at once, leaving you feeling refreshed, renewed and relaxed. Kundalini Yoga is an ancient system of yoga that uses breath techniques (pranayama), physical postures (asana), meditation, relaxation, and mudras (hand positions) to energize your body, quiet your mind, soothe the nervous system, invigorate the glandular system, allowing the body, mind and soul to balance. When we are in balance, we can be our best selves everyday. This workshop will consist of some discussion time to cover the definition of Kundalini Yoga and some of the elements used during a Kundalini Yoga practice, it’s history and philosophy. Following a brief discussion you will have the opportunity to practice some breath techniques, a Kundalini Yoga Kriya (set of exercises), extended gong relaxation, and an extended meditation session.
