AAA Gallery Events: Exhibition Opening, Workshop, and Auction

Hello again to all our members! August approaches, and with it, a few events of interest here at the gallery. Our next opening will be on Friday, August 1st at 6pm. “Chasing the Light” is our third show of the season, and will showcase Amy Guglielmo as the Featured Artist.

Oils and Acrylics Workshop

August also brings us a great 2-day workshop with Sean Dye, especially for beginners, in oils or acrylics. I’ve had a number of people request a beginner’s workshop, so please let your friends know that this is coming up. Dates will be August 5th and 6th, from 9am till 4pm with a break for lunch. Sean will do a quick demo at the start, and continue the painting development while the students are working. The price is $200 for the 2 days. A materials list will be sent out to all participants.

We had a really wonderful time at our workshop with James Daly, if we are able to offer this plein air workshop again, try to join it if you can because it’s great.

Benefit Auction

Last but not least, we are having a benefit auction! Out back in our lakeside yard, we will auction off “Art and Artifacts.” We have an auctioneer, a food vendor, now all we need is stuff!!

I’ve asked our exhibitors to donate some of their own work to the auction, and now I’d like to make this request to our general membership. Have you got a painting or interesting object that may be gathering dust up in the attic or otherwise be out of circulation that you can donate?

Auction date is Sunday, August 17th, starting at 4 pm. If you have something to donate, you can drop it off any day between 11 and 5. If it is something bulky and you need help with it let us know and we will come and get it.

The Adirondack Art Association was founded in 1963 to encourage art and contribute to community in the Adirondack Region. Our gallery showcases the work of 100+ members from May to October, with a special Christmas show in early December.
