At our Depot Theatre stage show performance last July we told stories about Essex, NY, and encouraged our audience to doodle as they listened. We gathered many doodles from the audience, but the one we’re sharing today is a simple sketch from the Depot Theatre‘s very own Shami McCormick!
Do you know what this doodle is? It’s an ice cream (waffle) cone—inspired by the Essex Ice Cream Cafe no doubt! The ice cream shop is a well-known Essex business that draws in many for a sweet treat.
I love the rays of sunlight extending from the ice cream that portray Essex’s classic sunburst motif. Take a look around Essex and you’ll see it everywhere!
We’d love for you to submit your Essex-inspired doodles! There are no bad doodles, so pick up a pen/pencil/marker etc. and get started! If you don’t want to start from scratch try creating an Essex Doodlebomb.
