Are you ready for the Fourth of July celebrations? Well, you better be soon because it’s only two days until the anniversary of America’s independence! It’s become a time for parades, cookouts, parties, and fireworks. Find out how Essex, NY, is celebrating below.
Fireworks, Parade, Food & Games!
An old-fashioned parade will step onto State Route 22 at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, from the Block House Road (by the Catholic Church), and will continue down past the Essex-Charlotte ferry dock and onto Main Street in Essex following the route it takes every year.
Make sure to get there early to find a good spot to park and watch as the marchers, bikers, floats, tractors, and vintage & classic cars go by! Don’t forget to be on the look out for the candy throwers!
Following the parade, go to Begg’s Point to play games and get some food!

A Fireworks extravaganza will begin at dusk on Friday, July 5, off Mason’s Point. Get your blankets ready to sit on at Beggs Point for a good lookout spot, and buy some sparklers to wave around as you watch the fireworks light up the sky over Lake Champlain!
