The Essex Theatre Company Barbeque Benefit will take place tomorrow, Saturday, July 26, at 5 pm, at the Masonic Lodge in Essex. The event will feature Jackie Robertin’s “Miscast,”Susie Smith’s Flying Pancakes Catering, a Chinese auction, and a cash bar.
Tickets are $25 at the door.
ETC Presents Smokey Joe’s Cafe
Also, coming up soon is the second production of the 2014 season: Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller’s musical revue Smokey Joe’s Café! This show is the longest running revue in Broadway history with 2,036 performances. The show will be co-presented with Adirondack Regional Theatre on August 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, at 7 pm and August 3 at 2 pm at the Masonic Lodge in Essex.
Director/Choreographer is Antonette Knoedl and Music Director/Accompanist is Allison Andre. The show, originally produced in 1995, features 39 pop and rock songs, such as “Yakety Yak,” “Love Potion #9,” “Fools Fall in Love,” “Hound Dog,” and “Treat Me Nice.”
Tickets for the musical are $15 at the door/$13 pre-pay.
