The Whallonsburg Grange will host its annual Holiday Market on Saturday, December 19, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Donations of toiletries, cash, and food will be collected for distribution to regional food pantries.
The market will feature an array of locally grown ingredients for holiday meals, as well as prepared foods ready for the table. Available for sale will be cheeses from North Country Creamery and Sugar House Creamery; wines from Hid-in-Pines Vineyard; pies, cheesecakes, truffles, and chocolate bark from Clover Mead Café; pot pies and quiches from DaCy Meadow Farm; and sausage, bacon, and ham from Mace Chasm Farm. Other area food producers will include Boquet River Jelly Mill, Reber Rock Farm, Tangleroot Farm, Boquet Valley Farm, Harvest Hill Farm, and Domaine Champlain Orchards.
Crafters will feature ornaments and decorations, pottery, jewelry, woodwork, hand-knits and beeswax candles.
Local author Kristen Hotaling of Willsboro will share her story The Lonely Christmas Tree at 2:00 and again at 3:00 p.m. Signed copies of her book will be available for sale. There will also be a children’s play area and gingerbread cookie decorating table.
Admission to the event is free, and donations for the food pantries will be gratefully accepted at the door.
